Is Acupuncture a good fit for your needs??

Acupuncture involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to influence energy flow, reduce pain, and improve overall well-being. Rooted in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), this holistic medicine practice has existed for more than 2,500 years and can be effective in treating a wide range of illnesses, conditions, and symptoms.
At Resolve Pain and Spine, our highly qualified and experienced team of practitioners uses acupuncture treatment to address chronic pain stemming from a spectrum of different causes. By precisely stimulating specific acupoints along the body’s major meridians, we rebalance the body’s energy (known in TCM as qi) and trigger its natural healing processes.
The number of Americans seeking acupuncture treatment more than doubled between 2002 and 2022 and the National Institute of Health (NIH) and World Health Organization (WHO) have both given it formal approval for certain uses, including pain relief. Acupuncture can be administered as a standalone treatment, but at Resolve we often recommend integrating it as part of a broader plan that also includes other approaches and therapies.
If you’re ready to reduce chronic pain symptoms and regain your quality of life, contact Resolve Pain and Spine today to learn more about acupuncture and how it fits into our holistic, multidisciplinary approach to pain management. We pride ourselves on developing an individualized treatment plan for every patient and look forward to working with you!
Acupuncture For Pain Management
Comprehensive research has established that acupuncture is effective in the treatment of chronic pain including back pain, neck pain, osteoarthritis, headaches, and more. It’s one of the most popular complementary and alternative medicine treatments sought out by individuals living with chronic pain, and also one of the safest. When administered by a qualified and experienced practitioner, acupuncture has very few risks, complications, or side effects and the team at Resolve Pain and Spine has used it to help hundreds of patients find lasting pain relief.
Traditional Chinese medicine views acupuncture as a way to direct and rebalance energy flow in the body, but modern science has also revealed the practice’s ability to trigger various body systems in beneficial ways. Though our understanding of the benefits of acupuncture is continually evolving, we know that it can stimulate the central nervous and immune systems, prompt the release of natural chemicals such as endorphins and neurotransmitters, positively affect the health of tissues where needles are inserted, and improve sleep, energy levels, and mental health—all of which play into the broader chronic pain landscape.

At Resolve Pain and Spine, our team may recommend acupuncture to help treat a wide variety of different pain conditions. Some of the most common conditions we treat with acupuncture include:

What To Expect
If you’ve never had acupuncture before, you may wonder what the treatment process is like. The number one question we receive from patients is if it hurts, and the answer is no.
Acupuncture is a gentle and safe treatment approach, and most patients find that they feel extremely relaxed during it and also afterward. You’ll comfortably lie down while thin, sterile needles, no wider than a human hair, are precisely tapped into the skin at specific acupoints. Your Resolve practitioner will determine their exact location and depth based on your unique symptoms and treatment goals and may stimulate them with a mild electrical current or manipulate them manually during your treatment session.
Acupuncture treatment typically takes anywhere from a few minutes to half an hour or more. While the needles are in your body, you may notice unusual sensations such as warmth, tingling, or heaviness. Every patient’s experience is different, and some patients don’t experience any noticeable sensations at all. If you experience discomfort at any point during acupuncture treatment, let your Resolve practitioner know right away so they can adjust accordingly.
After acupuncture treatment, you can typically leave immediately and resume your regular daily routine. Your doctor will let you know how frequently acupuncture treatments are recommended and our team will be available to answer any questions as they arise.
